LEI FUNDRAISERS

In Hawaii, commencement ceremonies are festive, with fragrant flower and colorful ribbon leis adorning the graduates. Kathleen Holmgren and Denise Lau, owners of K-D Crafts & Ribbon Leis, have brought this island tradition to the mainland by offering keepsake ribbon leis for graduations and special occasions.

For several years, Denise and Kathleen sewed ribbon leis strictly as gifts to family members and friends.  But with their eye-catching vibrancy in the grads’ school colors, the leis attracted the interest of many who saw them.  This enthusiasm gave Kathleen and Denise the incentive to provide their creations to a wider audience.  Thus K-D Crafts & Ribbon Leis was born, with the owners making every lei to order by hand.

Not only does K-D share the “gift of aloha” through the sale of ribbon leis.  As a service to school organizations, K-D offers fundraising opportunities by providing quantity discounts of their quality products.  The organizations resell the leis to their graduating seniors as well as to spirit, sports and academic groups in the school community.   K-D Crafts & Ribbon Leis is proud and happy to be able to offer this service during these difficult economic times.
